“Hollywood’s Favourite Photographer” (Daily Mail), considered by GQ as one of the “100 Best Things In The World”, “The New Andy Warhol” (L.A Weekly).

Tyler Shields is a photographer, film director, and writer, best known for his unique, controversial, shock evoking captures of Hollywood celebrities. In addition to his Fine Art photographs, he has shot campaigns for brands like Nike, Adidas, Playboy, Harley Davidson, and Gergé Swiss watches, among others. In 2014, the publishing of Tyler Shields book, including Smartest Man and The Dirty Side of Glamour, the completion of his first feature-length film, Final Girl, became huge successes.

Tyler Shields images play with notions of the gaze, power structures, hyper-realism and cinematographic practice. He will not think twice about setting a Rolls Royce on fire or destroying a $100000 Hermes Birkin Bag with a chainsaw for that perfect shot. He is known for his work with the elite young actors of our generations, including stars of Glee, Mad Men, Twilight and in particular his shoots with wild-star Lindsay Lohan.

Tyler Shields’s goal is to sell the most expensive photo ever. He is on course to achieve just that with the image below selling for £12500 (£4500 more than lowest estimate) at a Phillips auction in November 2014.

In a word his photos are provocative and tell a story with vivid imagination, creative thought and juxtaposition that makes you stare and think, rather than look.
